The Ontario Network of Employment Skills Training Projects (ONESTEP) is a province-wide umbrella organization for the community-based training and employment sector. More than 450 programs are provided by our member agencies, with over 250,000 clients served each year under the Employment Ontario, Ontario Works, Ontario Disability Support Program and Service Canada programs for youth and persons with disabilities.
The new site for ONESTEP was a re-build of an old Joomla 1.5 site we had created years ago, and was long overdue for an update. In addition to new photos and a fresh design, a new section (RAISE) needed to be created with its own colour-scheme and menu system, to exist as a 'site within a site' so to speak.
The new site needed to be AODA/WCAG compliant and fully responsive (mobile-friendly) and allow for a user-friendly experience for the various staff members to update and edit the website.
The Joomla 3 website was built using several key extensions: DPCalendar and WidgetKit.
The new site is fully responsive, and allows content to be managed by non-technical people.
